Ingredients

  • Roasted pumpkin 500 g
  • Wheat flour 500 g
  • Fresh yeast, one tablet
  • 1 liter of water

Step by step instructions for pumpkin fritters recipe

Step 1

Heat the oven to 180º and roast half a roteña pumpkin or peanut.

Step 2

Once roasted and cooled, scrape the roasted pulp and grind it with a blender. Reserve.

Step 3

Dissolve the yeast in warm water and add to the previously sifted flour.

Step 4

Add the water and stir until a homogeneous mass is formed. Add the pumpkin cream and mix well. Cover and let stand for 2 to 3 hours for the dough to rise.

Step 5

Heat plenty of sunflower oil in a casserole. Once the dough has risen, test to make sure that the dough floats when it falls.

Step 6

Take a pinch of dough with your hands dipped in cold water and with your thumb make the central hole before dropping the fritter in the oil.

Step 7

Brown the fritters and place on a plate with an absorbent paper towel to remove excess oil.

Step 8

Decorate with powdered sugar.
